Therapy for women · Brentwood & Franklin, TN

For the woman everyone else leans on.

You have spent decades being competent, reliable, and fine. This practice exists for the moment 'fine' stops being true, and for the longer work of building a life that actually fits you.

The quiet crisis

It rarely announces itself as a crisis

It looks like lying awake at 3 a.m. asking what is going on with me? It looks like snapping at people you love and not recognizing the sound of your own voice. It looks like a life that checks every box, and a persistent, private sense that none of it is quite yours.

Women between roughly forty and sixty carry a particular load: children still launching, parents beginning to fail, bodies changing the rules mid-game, marriages being renegotiated or ending, all while remaining the person everyone else leans on. None of that is a diagnosis. All of it deserves real therapeutic attention.

Where we work

The seasons that bring women here

  1. Midlife & identity

The roles that organized your life for decades stop fitting. Who you are underneath them becomes the question worth answering.

  2. Relationships & divorce

Whether you are staying, leaving, or rebuilding after, the patterns you carry into relationship deserve understanding, not just coping.

  3. Trauma & old patterns

Experiences that were never fully processed keep voting in the present. EMDR and parts work help them finally adjourn.

  4. Motherhood & the mental load

Being the one who holds everything, the appointments, the emotions, the invisible logistics, is a real weight with real costs.

  5. Aging parents & caregiving

Caring for the people who raised you while raising your own children rearranges your identity. Old family dynamics rarely stay quiet.

  6. Life transitions

Empty nest. Career change. Perimenopause. Faith shifts. The passages nobody prepared you for, met with honesty instead of platitudes.

The roles you were handed are not the same as the life you would choose.

Beyond coping

We work at the root, not just the symptom

Plenty of therapy for women stops at stress management: breathe, journal, set a boundary, repeat. Useful, but insufficient when the pattern was installed decades ago and is protected by a nervous system that believes it keeps you safe.

My approach integrates EMDR, IFS / parts work, and somatic awareness. In plain terms: we find where the pattern started, help the part of you that keeps it running, and reprocess the experiences that taught it, so change shows up in your actual life, not just in your insights about your life.

See how the work fits together

Earlier in the story?

I also work with younger adult women navigating relationships, identity, career, and the particular vertigo of your twenties and thirties, especially when old family patterns are already making themselves known. The earlier the root is tended, the less of your life it organizes.

If something in your life is asking to change, we can begin there.
